sweetmiss: the very core of me is island. i can neither explain or understand it. the life rhythms, the cadence of the language, the inescapable heat and strange tropical fruits. the stray dogs and bicycles. papaya trees lining the rutted streets, open-air markets, and colourful public transport blaring te vaka -- for every pidgin conversation and ocean sunset... here i am home.
